This Texas Holdem Poker advanced strategy articles is going to reveal to you the secrets of how to prosper and profit at the poker table using a little know but very powerful tactic.

This Advanced Texas Holdem poker strategy aims at winning less often but winning big in the long run. That’s the case when playing suited connectors. Suited connectors are hole cards such as 9 of hearts and 10 of hearts with the aim to hit the flop.

It isn’t exactly easy to make a hand with these hole cards but the possibilities of straights, flushes or straight flushes increases. Mastering the beginner and intermediate levels along with the ability to read your opponents are the tools required.

Playing Suited Connectors – Step #1

One should start by playing defensive before the flop and calling at most two bets as more than that is undue risk. Ensure that you don’t overplay as too many bets results into too many hands.

This Texas Holdem Poker advanced strategy involves losing more than winning; hence the idea is to win big which makes playing suited connecters worthwhile in the long run.

Playing Suited Connectors – Step #2

Low cards are usually a problem with suited connecters as the flush or straight you might play can easily be beaten. Hence, if you do decide to play with low cards you need to read the board and the opponents carefully and not be apprehensive about folds.

How you hit the flop decides whether you fold or remain in hand. For instance, if you have an 8 of clubs and a 9 of clubs and the flop is 7 of clubs, 10 of clubs and a Queen of hearts then you would obviously stay in hand. But if the flop turns out as 5 of hearts, Queen of diamonds and Ace of spades you will have to fold.

Playing Suited Connectors – Step #3

Your understanding of pot odds is vital for playing suited connectors. This understanding coupled with the knowledge of the number of outs you have increases your chances of winning. They will give you pretty good idea as to what the result will be for you.

Playing suited connectors is very profitable but it surely is one of the more difficult Texas Holdem Poker advanced strategies. If you master this strategy you will be able to utilise it the next time your at the poker table, and you might just profit a whole lot more because of it.

Did you know that …

... the first mechanical slot machine was the Liberty Bell, invented in 1895 by car mechanic, Charles Fey (1862-1944) of San Francisco?

The Liberty Bell slot machine had three spinning reels. Diamond, spade, and heart symbols were painted around each reel, plus the image of a cracked Liberty Bell. A spin resulting in three Liberty Bells in a row gave the biggest payoff, a grand total of fifty cents or ten nickels.

The original Liberty Bell slot machine can still be seen at the Liberty Belle Saloon & Restaurant in Reno, Nevada.
