If the player is quite far from the winning value i.e. 21 then he or she can ask for another card or ‘Hit’ but if the player feels that a hit or request for another card can exceed his or her card total more than 21 then it is better to avoid a hit. It is generally advised that a player should go for a hit or draw cards until he or she reaches a value of 17 or more.
If the player’s card value exceeds total of 21 then he or she goes bust or in a simple language loses the game.
When the player is near the total 21 and has not gone bust then the dealer is suppose to open his second card and reveal his total.
The player wins if the dealer’s card value is less than the value of a player’s card value and if a dealer hits the blackjack or 21 then the casino wins it.
